If you follow me on Instagram @dashofluxe you will see that I am a huge fan of layering. I love layering because it is one of the best ways to change your wardrobe up and create different looks. Often times, I can pick a few staple pieces to create multiple looks. In this post, I will show you how to use a cami and vest as your basic anchor pieces and then use those to create beautifully styled looks.
Layering with a cami:
Cropped Cami – using a plaid cami, I was able to layer it two different ways to give you two uniquely different looks. With the first look, the cami is styled over a simple turtleneck and paired with dress pants which make it work appropriate or even great for a date night.
Using all the same components, I simply added a long tie sleeve duster and styled with some busted knee jeans to create a more casual look.
Satin Cami: there are so many looks that can be created with a satin, dressier cami. This look below is a favorite. Take any gorgeous cami whether it is cropped or longer in length and style it over cute long or short sleeve lightweight top and you have a gorgeous look that can be styled with jeans or pants. I really love how this look is perfect for a girls night out or a date night with my hubby.
Layering with a vest:
Sleeveless vests – Vests have been around for a while. There are your traditional sweater vests then there are more detailed ones. I found this gorgeous black lace like vest and knew I had to get it. With the first look, I simply styled it over a sweater with some adorable balloon sleeves and then wore them with black leggings.
For a more professional work look, you could style this same vest with a simple button down white shirt and pair it with some work pants. The look is super stylish! Why wear boring clothes when you can mix and match and have fun with your wardrobe. Life is too short to wear boring clothes.
