Celebrating All Moms

There seems to be so many days of celebration that are marked on the calendar, I sometimes say they are just Hallmark holidays. Mother’s Day is different and special to me because it is a day to celebrate all the wonderful mothers out there.  Those who are present in your lives or those that are no longer with you.  Being a Mom isn’t easy and I can speak to this first hand…not easy at all, but it is so worth it!!!  Of all my accomplishments, my boys are by far my greatest.

Being a Mom is probably one of the most selfless roles or titles a person will ever hold in their life. They often go unnoticed, they often function on very little sleep, they must be able to multi-task, sometimes they often get little appreciation, they get disappointed, they get elated and happy, they cry (tears of joy, tears of sadness), they are creative, they are organized, and the list goes on and on. They help make dreams come true, they are mostly optimistic and they are the ultimate cheerleaders.  They will support anyone they believe in and inspire like no other, cheering you through any journey.

These amazing women we call Moms are more successful than any career woman out there. Why is that?  Because these women have true super hero powers. Powers they don’t even know they possess. They have healing powers, they pick their babies up when they are hurt. Whether they are hurting emotionally or physically makes no difference. They speak words of encouragement, words our children need to hear…often at times when they don’t need or want them and then times when they need them most. They are a beacon of light to help guide a child when they are lost and they will always give more of themselves, even when there seems like there is nothing to give. You see, a Mom’s love is unconditional. They squirm in anguish when they witness a child’s pain and if they could, they would take and bear that pain for their child.  However, they know at times, life lessons take place and they must watch their children hurt so that they in turn, may learn and grow.

A Mom is so invested in their children, both financially and emotionally.  They can bring order to any chaos and can command attention when needed. You don’t dare mess with her children unless you want to deal with a mad Momma Bear. She will protect and stand up for her kids until the end. The wrath of a scorned or mad Mom is like no other.

As unique and amazing as Moms are, even with superhero powers, they can be fragile.  They can love so much until it hurts.  You see Moms are special. They do what they do, everyday – seven days a week, 24 hours a day and even when they are beyond exhausted, they know their jobs don’t stop. Yet, these amazing Moms show up for work everyday. So, rather than just one calendar day of celebrating Moms, I think every day is Mother’s Day.  A special thank you to all the amazing and fabulous Moms out there. Your tireless support to your families is much appreciated and admired.

Here are the most notable, inspirational and influential women in my life…

My sweet Momma.  This lady has the biggest heart…to know her is to love her.  I owe so much to her as she has sacrificed so much for me to become who I am today.  She deserves an entire blog spot on her own. #forevergrateful

This pic above is what winning the lottery looks like.  I hit the jackpot, winning the world’s best Mother-in-law.  Hands down one of the most loving and caring people I know.  She is selfless in so many ways that I can’t even begin to count or list them all.  She has raised such an amazing son (aka my husband) that I can only hope the bond that I create with my boys is as strong as her mother/son bond.  #trulyblessed

My Bestie!  This gal has been by my side as I embraced motherhood before her.  She is such an inspiration and is so well grounded which in turn, sometimes was often my voice of reasoning.  She has a way of opening my eyes to looking at things differently.  Everyone needs a person who can provide a new or didfeeent perspective. She is my saving grace. #bff #bestie

My hearts!  I love them equally.  I only hope one day they realize my love for them each has no boundaries and that it is endless.  All I want and dream for them is to give everything they do in life their ALL, to give everything they do the absolute BEST they can.  To always seek happiness and be true to themselves and all else will fall into place.  To dream big and reach for the stars!

This post is dedicated to all the amazing Moms out there. If you are lucky to have your Moms on this earth, tell them and remind them how much you love them and that they are important. For those of you with Moms who have left too soon, cherish your memories and keep them strong and alive in your hearts.  Lastly, if you are reading this and you are a Mom, remember you are simply the B-E-S-T!  …and don’t ever forget it. Happy Mother’s Day and celebrate everyday!
